harder to kill

Last month, I had the pleasure of being a guest on Harder to Kill Radio, a podcast created by the fabulous Steph Gaudreau of Stupid Easy Paleo. I’ve always been a talker, so podcast interviews are my favorite. They offer a chance for some seriously uninhibited real talk, and with Steph as the host, things got real quick – real honest and real awesome. If you haven’t had the chance to listen yet, you can do so HERE. You’ll get to know me a bit better and hopefully find some inspiration along the way.

This podcast was my favorite yet, and I think that’s for two reasons..

First, I honestly feel like Steph and I were meant to be friends (cliché? Ok, yes. But true). We both left jobs teaching high school to pursue our passions for health and wellness. We both love Olympic lifting. We both love bees (she’s keeping them, and I have them tattooed all over my arm). We both love real food and are passionate about sustainability. Plus, we sort of just clicked, even though our podcast interview was actually the first time we had met. If you don’t know who Steph is (which is very few of you, if any), please do check out what she’s doing. She’s an all around badass strong woman who’s making an impact daily.

Second, I feel that this interview allowed me to speak to from my true self, who I feel like I know better and am more confident and in love with than ever before. As I figure out who I am and attempt to live authentically, I feel like that energy comes back to me. People respond, doors open, and even if they don’t I’m still OK. That, my friends, is a very cool feeling. Educating, speaking, teaching, sharing – each is easier when I feel confident in who I am and what I have to give. I feel like that came through in this interview, and I feel like this is just the beginning… because each day is really just that: the start to the rest of our lives. It’s what we do with it that matters. Steph gets that, and I think that’s why this podcast was so damn fun.

A little more about the interview Podcast 49

ep-49-quoteFirst, a blurb from Steph:

“Laura Bruner has a passion for educating, and she absolutely love teaching others about nutrition, natural/functional movement, and the power each has to set the foundation for health, wellness, and true quality of life.

She believes the ability to thrive is not just a product of the way we eat and move, though; nutrition, mindfulness, daily movement, and regular play are the integral parts needed for a healthy, happy life. Asking questions, digging deep, speaking up, and living a little radically each and every day are necessary to grow strong, and the growing never ends, no matter how old we get (and neither should play).

I really loved Laura’s outlook on life and her efforts to do what she can in this modern age to live a life closer to her roots. She’s got some really practical advice for people just starting out on their own journey, and I know you’re going to feel inspired by what she’s up to!”
