Looking for a recipe that will wow family and friends, but only takes you minutes to prepare? How about something soul-warming and festive through the holidays and all winter long?
I’ve got you covered with this 4-ingredient, slow-cook, insanely flavorful, versatile cranberry pulled pork.
I got a big pork shoulder (as a monthly discounted bonus) from Wild Pastures, and when winter solstice rolled around, I knew just the festive main to bring to our fireside gathering with friends.

Inspired by my love for cranberry sauce (and a cranberry roast our friends made for Friendsgiving) and with a big, beautiful pork shoulder in the oven, I knew just what to make.
In less than 2 minutes that morning, I had a set it and forget it main dish ready to bring to share with friends. Pork shoulder, cranberry sauce, a packet of organic French onion dip mix, and a little sea salt, and I could step away and enjoy a day in the snow with my girls while dinner did its thing.
And ohhhh did it do its thing. We loved this one so much that Rusty requested it for Christmas dinner. It pairs great with focaccia, mashed potatoes, more cranberry sauce, and our favorite roasted brussels, and has officially made its way to my Holiday Recipe Round-Up!
Go see for yourself! Cheers to nourishing food as love language.
cranberry pulled pork
WHAT YOU NEED:
- pork shoulder (approximately 2 lb)
- 1 can whole berry cranberry sauce (or homemade is great too)
- 1 packet French onion dip mix (we got Simply Organic from Thrive Market)
- 2 teaspoons sea salt + more to taste
WHAT YOU DO:
Pull out your slow cooker (we LOVE this one)
Mix the cranberry sauce, French onion dip, and sea salt in a bowl.
Move the pork shoulder into the slow cooker with the fat side up, and pour the mixture all over the top.
Cover and set to slow cook for 8 hours.
Once it’s done, come back with a couple of forks to shred the meat. Then, depending on your preference, you can serve it up with all the juices or (like we love), set the slow cooker to the sear setting and cook it down till the sugars caramelize and the pork gets crispier.
Serve as a main dish, on sandwiches, salad toppers, or whatever your heart desires. And stay tuned for my cranberry cocoa chili recipe coming soon!
However you serve it, be sure to ENJOY!
