There’s something special about sitting down to a good movie with a big bowl of popcorn. There’s something even more special about that bowl being filled with butter-popped, sea-salty and maple syrup sweet sprouted popcorn.
And we’re here for it.
We LOVE the sprouted popcorn kernels from Thrive Market. I love knowing I’m nourishing my girls with a more easily digested, organic, non-gmo home-popped popcorn option, and they love the fun of listening to the “pop pop pop” of those kernels popping in our own kitchen.

maple sea salt sprouted popcorn
WHAT YOU NEED:
- 2 tablespoons avocado oil or ghee
- 1/3 cup popcorn kernels
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- optional: 1 teaspoon cinnamon
WHAT YOU DO:
- Set a thick bottom pot to medium high heat and immediately add the oil or ghee and a few popcorn kernels.
- Watch the pot and as soon as those kernels pop, add the remaining 1/3 cup of kernels and gently shake the pot to coat with the oil or ghee.
- Cover pot with lid and listen closely as the popping kernels will really get going.
- Once the pot slows to 1-2 seconds between pops, remove from heat and crack the lid to allow steam out.
- Add butter, maple syrup, and sea salt and toss to coat.
- Move to a big bowl, share with the ones you love, and ENJOY!
I hope you enjoy this one as much as we do! If you make it, I’d love to hear your thoughts and see how you use it! Tag @laura.radicalroots.
