hemp and honey granola

I’ve been craving warming spices, honey, and oats as of late, and I am pretty sure that since I am 24 weeks pregnant, the cravings are coming on even stronger than usual.

I woke up this week very specifically wanting Greek yogurt, warm sautéed pears, and granola with the perfect hint of cinnamon, sweet, salt, and crunch.

And so, I went to work at 7am, and this super simple hemp and honey granola was born. I even have Evie to thank as she woke up halfway through and joined me in the creating. This recipe is definitely kid friendly, from creation to enjoyment. I hope you’ll create and enjoy with the ones you love!

I love that this has nourishing and energy dense sprouted oats (I love the One Degree ones), protein and omegas from Eaton Hemp seeds (save 15% with code: MODERNMAMAS), healthy fats from butter or coconut oil, and just the perfect amount of natural sweetness.

Bonus points for the mamas looking to get more dates in through late pregnancy (like me!).

ENJOY!

hemp and honey granola

  • Servings: 6+
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Print

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • 3 cups oats (we love sprouted for easy digestion and bioavailable nutrition)
  • 2 tablespoons coconut sugar
  • 1tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup melted butter or coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup hemp seeds (we love Eaton Hemp (save 15% with code: MODERNMAMAS)
  • 6 dates chopped

WHAT YOU DO:

  • preheat oven to 300F and spread parchment on a baking sheet.
  • in a large bowl, combine oats, sugar, spices, and salt.
  • add wet ingredients, mixing to combine evenly.
  • spread mixture out on baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes (15 if your oats aren’t sprouted).
  • now sprinkle in hemp seeds and mix up to combine evenly.
  • bake for 10-15 more minutes until lightly browned all over (don’t burn!).
  • remove from oven, stir in your dates while granola is warm, and let cool.
  • ENJOY! I love this over Greek yogurt, especially with some apple or pear sautéed in butter and cinnamon.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temp for about a week.

I hope you enjoy these as much as we do! If you make them, I’d love to hear your thoughts or see a photo! Tag @laura.radicalroots.
