We’re in the heart of winter, and while we still prioritize getting outside, I love a good family game afternoon on a stormy day (and year-round really). And family game time is a big hit around here. And I am here for it. Learning. Problem-solving. Belly laughs. Quality time together.
I swear I can see the wheels turning in Evie’s head as she learns to think critically, work through the disappointment of losing, and relish in the fun of winning. We’re leaning into the slower pace of this season and the magic in the memories made around the table.
That said, I shared some of our favorite family-friendly games recently on social media, and got SO many awesome ideas from all of you! So, here is my no-frills, straight-to-the-point list of community-shared family games! Be sure to save this one to come back to as you build your game night arsenal.
Happy game time, friends!
ENJOY!
Our current top 3 games:
- You Wish (Evie’s current favorite): Like Go Fish, but with a magic twist.
- Jenga: A stacking and unstacking favorite. This one is so nostalgic for me, and I love the lessons in patience, presence, and balance.
- Catan Junior: We’re big Settler of Catan fans over here, and I LOVE this kids’ edition. It’s just the right balance for adults and kids to both enjoy, and it’s such great prep for when we make the transition to regular Catan
