boosted coffee: mornings on shrooms

Guess what, friends… I am on shrooms, and I am in love.

Yes, I said it: shrooms. Beyond the Portobello, an entire kingdom of mushrooms exists, many with amazing health benefits for immunity, energy, and longevity that have been studied for centuries. The folks at Paleovalley are on a mission to infuse functional mushrooms into the foods and supplements we love and use daily! Hello, extra health-boosting coffee. Their goal is to enrich minds and improve cognition one cup of mushroom coffee at a time. And after years supplementing with adaptogenic mushrooms, I am a 100% believer too. I love that Paleovalley has added the organic mushroom blends (along with polyphenols,) right into their ground coffees.

Paleovalley’s polyphenol-dense, organic coffee. The low-acid, smooth, rich brew is made with coffee beans from organic, sustainable farms plus is boosted with functional mushrooms and coffee fruit extract, resulting in a delicious morning ritual and another way to support cognitive function and wellness.

The recipe below is my favorite way to enjoy my morning cup of coffee for sustained energy, mental clarity, and the boost I need to take on the day (without a crash). Mushrooms have made me feel like superwoman, and frankly, I never want to go back. It might sound crazy, but I have a feeling you’ll agree once you give this a try.

Mushrooms truly helps me feel focused and creative in ways I haven’t before, especially in combination with high quality organic coffee and protein-packed grass fed whey.

I hope you enjoy this one as much I do every. single. day. Peace, love, and shrooms, friends!

Boosted Coffee

  • Servings: 1
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Print

WHAT YOU NEED:

You can also do this with cold brew! Blend it all and enjoy. I love adding a frozen banana for a little more sweet flavor and creamy texture.

WHAT YOU DO:

  • brew your coffee in desired manner
  • Add all remaining ingredients to your Vitamix or blender (or straight to your mug and use the travel frother)
  • once coffee and goods are blended, top with steamed milk/cream and..
  • ENJOY!

What do you think? Are you a boosted coffee kind of morning-er? I love sipping slowly while I work, do the mama thing, and feel like a boosted superwoman. Note: as the weather gets warmer, you can swap in your favorite cold brew too!

Oh, and want to boost your ice cream game too? Try my mushroom coffee ice cream (trust)!

Hugs!

♡ Laura

Hey Laura, it doesn’t look like Paleovalley has whey protein anymore. Or am I missing something? What other protein powders do you use in this recipe? Thanks!

Hi! Sorry this comment went to spam! You can use any whey that works for you. Sometimes I just use the vanilla collagen from Primal Kitchen too. Some other favorites are Naked Whey and Tara’s Whey. Thank you!

I just started trying some of the FourSigmatic mixes. I was wondering – as someone who is avoiding sugar for hormone balance – what do you think about the sugar in the Vanilla Whey? I need the opinion of someone more educated than me. Thanks!

Hi April! As of late, I’ve actually taken out the whey. I believe this would be just as delicious and effective without the whey. 1/2 a serving of this whey, though, provides such a small amount of sugar that I don’t believe it would make a difference. The best way to know for sure is to self experiment. Thanks so much for coming to my website. It means a lot. Sending a hug!
