golden bone broth rice

I’ve been sharing my nourishing bowl creations a lot lately, and the feedback has been all good. Typically one of the bases of these delicious bowls is a scoop of warm golden bone broth rice. nutrient dense, protein boosting, collagen filled, and delicious, this rice makes an awesome base for salmon bowls, taco bowls, stir fries, and more.

Bonus points because it’s Evie approved too! I love getting the benefits of turmeric and bone broth in the whole family. And when the rice is soaked overnight (or better yet sprouted), it’s easy to digest and offers great energy dense fuel for a balanced plate.

I am currently loving this as the base of a bowl along with crispy sweet potato bits, avocado, pink pickled onions, and sprouted black bean hummus. I would love to hear how you get creative with it too!

ENJOY!

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • 1 cup organic rice*
  • 2 cups bone broth
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder (optional; we do this for taco bowls)

*I love using sprouted brown rice or rice that’s been soaked for at least 8 hours, usually overnight.

WHAT YOU DO:

Prepare your rice ahead of time to make it easier to digest by soaking 6+ hours. I usually start my soak right when I wake up in the morning (about 5am) for a 5pm dinner time, but anything helps!

Bring your broth to a boil in a pot, and while that’s coming to a boil, drain and rinse your rice real well.

Add all of your ingredients to the broth, give it a stir, reduce to a simmer, and cover; let it cook 20-40 minutes depending on the kind of rice (20 for basmati and 40+ for wild rice blend).

Enjoy friends! If you do enjoy this one, I’d love to hear about it! Comment below or tag me on social media. Sending love and nourishment, now and always!

Hugs, Laura
